lighting package

hey guys. well i havent purchased my glk yet. but i will. lol unfortunatly the glk im working on talking to the dealer about does not include the xenon lighting package which i really want. none of the glks that have with the packages i want come with it. so my question is there a way i can get the factory package addded by say another dealer?

Xenon lighting package is installed at the factory. It includes not only the headlight assembly but comes with LED turn signal tailight assembly too. So I don't think another dealer can add it afterwards. Even if they can, it'd be more costly.

If you want just the xeon headlights, you *could* get aftermarket HID kit. However, I would not recommend that. Factory HID comes with other functions such as self-leveling, corner lighting, swiveling, headlight washers, high beam in HID, etc. IMO the factory xeon is well worth the money and the wait if you want it

^^^what Tate said.

There were 5 GLKs with Lighting package in north east when I was buying mine. Mine was on the ship coming into US and was supposed to go to CO. I'd recommend going to large dealer as they have good search capabilities and they can get car from almost anywhere. Also try to see what other option you might consider adding/taking out. I got a car quite different from what I originally wanted but have no regrets. It seems that lighting package comes on more loaded GLK's, and I don't regret getting any one of them (have all 4).

Lastly, there are people who added HID kits afterwards for a few hundred bucks, but as Tate said, you don't get other functions (corner illumination, swivel and rear led turn signals) with this install. And no, dealer can't add this package as it's factory installed and not a dealer option.

If the dealer really wants the sale he will find you the car of your liking. My only input would be to get everything you want, so you don't have buyer remorse later thinking I should have got it. I have been waiting for 5 months, and delivery is next month for our GLK, wanted the keyless go for us. Worth the wait...

wow. thanks for the replys people. im getting a pretty good deal with a pretty loaded in my opinion GLK. they are offering me a capri blue (color i wanted) with premium package 1, multimedia, ipod kit, running boards, apperance package, heated seats for 42000 with 1.9% and the deal is only good till the 30th. so looks like i might have to just live without cool headlights. atleast its a new car! maybe ill try to push the dealer to finding one from another dealer or something. i belive its a pretty large dealership in the souther california area.

weird how it doesn't have lighting package with all of the other packages.

And don't let them fool you with end of the month BS, there is always end of the month next month hahah. The deal is pretty good, but I think inline with what people have been getting in US. Keep in mind tho that ordering now is a pain, since MB has been shutting down prodcution and some people have been waiting for thier cars to arrive for much longer that usuall. Which will also lead to worse deals. So go with the deal and get aftermarket xenons installed later on.
