Q) Battery q'ty in GLK (1 or 2?)

I am wondering how many batteries are in GLK.

Is it 2ea same as other benz models?

1 for Starting an engin and another one for EXTRA?

Or Just 1-big sized in an Engin room?

Also, can i use an aftermarket poplular battery after 2~3 years, wear-tear warranty gone?

Just curious....

this is first time I've heard that cars have 2 batteries. I don't think you'll need another battery till car is out of any warranty (I hope) and at that point you can do whatever you want.

Original batteries on my toyotas died after 5-7 years.

Offtopic, but for one car I replaced the battery right before DMV inspection, and you can't pass till ECU resets. ECU resets by itseft after 200-300 miles, what a pain since I wasn't driving the car much, had to take a road trip.

EDIT: per this handy pdf overview of GLK I have, which goes in quite detail, there is only one battery

"The battery is located in the engine compartment in front of the firewall.
In the event of critical low voltage, the rear window heater, the heated seats, the washer fluid heater and the heated outside mirrors are switched off automatically. In such a case, the power of the ventilation blower in the interior compartment is also automatically reduced to 50%."

Thank you for your answer.

E class and some other benz models have 2 batteries on their car.
That's why I asked about it.
