Technical Issues
Hi All,
The outside of my car, just by the drivers door gets very hot...it feels like hot air is being blown to this area. It is easy to notice if you stand by the drivers door!
Anybody noticed this in their GLK...If not I think I should get it checked...
It is real hot air!!!!

I think it's just warm air from the engine. I noticed the same think on mine. I'm not worry about it, the 3.5 is a big engine and it generates a lot of heat. Did you also notice that just after you started the engine, the radiator fan kicks in? On mine, even if the engine is cold - morning start - the radiator fan will kick in at low speed. Later on, when the engine gets hotter, the fan will spin faster to cool down the engine.

Thx Miric, I did, but that is the only area around the car that has this hot air blowing....wish it was the passengers side!!!
Yeah I noticed the fan....But glad that the drive is very smooth with minimum noise...

Does the gauge say engine is overheating? If not then it's normal. Parts do heat up (engine, break rotors, tires). If hot air is coming out, it's good, means it's not trapped in the engine bay.

Thanks NYCGLK and Baby G. The guage does not say it is overheating and am glad that things are fine....And thanks to you both and others in the forum for enhancing my experience.

BP, I suppose others have addressed this, but I just want to say it's an issue, or rather trait, that is shared in my other MBs as well. The way I look at it is, I'd rather the heat be outside the car than in it!
