Traffic Message Channel and UMI
I was hoping I could find someone on here that could help me out.
Does anyone have the Universal Media Interface ( UMI ) installed in their car and live in the Chicagoland area ? I had the UMI installed in my car 2 months ago and one of the features is free live traffic updates with the navigation via traffic message channel ( TMC ) updates. I have never had a traffic message display on the nav screen, and before I bring it to the dealer I was wondering if this is because a) it is not available in the Chicagoland area b) I rarely travel on the expressway or c) I live in an area that does not receive updates ( I am in the Northwest suburbs about an hour outside of the city ). I have been trying to reseach this for a week but I cannot find any helpful information on the internet.
