Question Aero package?

Question: Is there any aerodynamic benefit in the Aero package? Ether in gas mileage, high speed stability or changing the air flow to keep water off the rear window. Yes: it looks good.

coming soon

I bought my aero kit and will be installed next month. I bought the kit knowing that the styling is reasonable for the $. The rear spoiler is said to keep the glass a bit less dirty than without. Usually any aero kit is said to improve the air dynamics. If it does anything to gas mileage, this will be a very minimal affect.

Hope this helps.

Which aero kit did u get? The OE ones from dealerfit? I love those Brabus ones but their pricing just doesn't make sense!

sorry...should have stated that!
I got the OE MB 3pc kit.
Yeah, the other kits are just too overpriced for what they are. IMO.
But the light kit from Carlsson looks great!

No there isn't... just make sure they do a good job gluing it onto the stock wing. I saw one on the freeway the other day on a GLK. It was lifting off at one end... poor adhesion job.... and the paint match was horrible!

My thought is the GLK is the furthest thing from an aerodynamic vehicle in the 1st place. If you wanted aero, why did you purchase a box on wheels? There's nothing short of a new entire body design you can do to improve on it... even if there was, you wouldn't get any real benefit unless you were traveling at 100mph or faster for long periods!

If weather is permitting, maybe we should setup a GLK road trip to Seattle

hey Tate, sounds like a good idea.
I am actually hoping during a month later after I get the GLK's break-in period....

Baby G... no problemo... it's only a few days away anyway...

You can get an AMG Styling Package from the factory now, perfect fit, looks good, and best of all...covered under a factory warranty. Plus some nice wheels and LED daytime running lights.

hey chilledbenz... thanks.
but I don't think I am going to order another GLK for factory AMG styling.
Also, not sure if this is sold separately.

And of course, my OEM kit is covered by warranty. As all MB OE accessories.

lol yeah I wouldn't think someone would go buy another one just to get the package, I was aiming my post more towards the original poster. As for getting the package as an after purchase option, you most likely can, but be warned that MB likes to put a high price on parts. You would have to buy them piece by piece and that would add up fast. I remember one year MB offered an upsize wheel and tire package for the R class at $1000 if you ordered them with the car. After purchase price was $800 per wheel, minus the tires.
