Turning off the UMI Voice

Does anyone know how to deactivate the UMI directions narrative used when you set up your destination? I still get the voice telling me to turn here etc. when I've turned it off or returned to the radio side. Ive tried all the controls and hit the last function on the right.

Turn the volume down at the time when the NAV is giving the directions.

Stop the Lady from Talking

If you have set a destination and no longer want the NAV to work just by going to the radio does not stop her from talking. You must go to Destination in the lower right corner and tell the system to cancel navigation. She may ask if you are sure otherwise she stops talking.

My bad! I misundestood the question. That is correct if you have to cancell the directions. I think, you can also do that by giving a "Cancell Navigation" command by pushing the speech button.

I've tried that by going to lower right corner (kind of a sideways u with an arrow) and push in the controller knob. It may be different for the Command system but I'm assuming its got to be similar with the UMI. I just can't seem to end the verbal Navigation directions unless I turn the vehicle off for a while or when I've reached the destination I programmed in. It even comes back on after a lengthy pit stop.
