iPhone integration question for the experts

I know that this question has been posed many times already and I've combed through the thread archives and read each and every post, but I'm more confused than ever. I'm a new owner of a GLK delivered last week. I got the P1 package AND the Multimedia package in addition to the rear seat entertainment system. Sadly, the only way to listen to music on my iPhone is by plugging it into the aux jack located on the right hand side of the glove box. I've noticed that there is cutout on the left side of the glove box and assume that this is where a port for the iPhone should be located. I've spoken with the dealer and the service department about this, but they seem to be as confused as I am. The parts dept. tells me that I need only a cable (priced around $79us) to integrate the iPhone with the Comand system. But I don't see anyplace to plug this cable into. I'm assuming that the service dept. will need to run wiring from the Comand system to the glove box. Is this correct? Can any of the experts here comment on what exactly I will need the dealer to install in order to integrate my iPhone into the Comand system?

Thanks!
