Hello, I'm trying to figure this out but there's so many options with the ipod that it's really confusing.
I bought a used 2010 GLK with premium, appearance and lighting packages. I don't get delivery of the vehicle for about 3 weeks. On my old car I had an aftermarket system and played/controlled the ipod through the deck. Now with this GLK, which doesn't have the Multimedia package, is there ANY way to get some addon which will allow me to control a music source (doesn't have to be ipod..but something that can hold about 10gigs of music and have some kind of order to it) through the center console? I understand the ipod integration kit only allows the music list to be viewed in the instrument panel. Are there any USB kits or addons to the stock system that will allow this?

I searched around for the same and couldn't find anything. The ipod integration kit was the best option, but I didn't get it because scrolling a list through the steering wheel is painful. Also, I read some reviews that the volume control is not that great when coming through the integration. It sounds like you'd have to play around with the volume a lot (and the volume boost).
In either case, as true or untrue as the second part is, the big turn off was that you can't use it in the LCD.

I searched around and saw that a few companies made ipod interfaces for the benz. They're all around $500. I also called the MB stealership and found out that the cost of installing the ipod integration kit will be $550 after parts and labor ($101 an hour for labor...really?). I might call around to some aftermarket auto sound stores and see what they can do.
