Seat belt reminder sound.

I don't intend to start a discussion of the value of wearing seat belts. For various reasons I find myself not wearing my seat belt sometimes.

Has anybody found a way to silence the warning sound for not wearing a seat belt? Could it be something as simple as shorting a wire that attaches to the seat belt buckle to fool the system into thinking the belt is already buckled?

I don't mind experimenting but I don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone else has already done this. Your thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

I don't agree with you not wearing a seatbelt but to each their own. Here is a link of something that might work.

MB GLK350 's seat belt reminder chime is quite pleasant. Not as harsh and annoying as Mitsubishi's, GMC's or Chevy's chimes.

Nice find dynomite. Thanks. I did find the wires that lead to the seat belt. I'm not sure if it's a normally open or normally closed circuit. I'll do a little testing. I'm just wondering if the circuit needs to be rearmed every time the key is turned on. I doubt it but one never knows.

My wife doesn't put hers on immediately after getting in the car when I am driving and the tone doesn't seem to bother her. But it gets really annoying to me after a mile or two and I have to remind her to put it on. Might not be a bad idea to be able to adjust it to be louder.

The wife is not adjustable, either.
