Black wheels instead of chrome?

good points, all.
Grey? Like what came on the car? I actually like them OK but the MILF wants something that stands out a bit.
I saw a black ML this morning while walking the dog. It had chrome afrer-markets on (the ML, not the dog) and I really liked how it looked, so chrome is edging back into first place.
I really like the OEM wheels (& the Pirelli tires!), though, so I'd rather get them chromed than buy new wheels. Also don't want to have to deal with offset, center spacers, etc.
ml3504me, I assume when you say painted, you mean powder coated, no?

Well really any wheel that is not chrome is considered a painted wheel. Like the grey ones on my C above, the silver ones on the ML above.
Wheels are either Chrome, Polished, Painted, Painted and Polished or you can even get different finishes like Diamond finish, brushed finish...
I like painted wheels like the one on my black ML - I am not a fan of chrome bling.

Oh, got it; for some reason I was thinking redfinished, not original finish.
I agree that the chrome is a bit flashy but It's all in fun. Besides, my wife is pretty special (and not very demanding) so I like to give her what she wants.

Yummy!
OK, what is with the G500; are my wife and I the only ones who think that thing is ugly as sin?
They are way popular here in La-La Land.

Here is a link that has the wheels like mine on your car. They also make gunmetal I think.

I like the AMG style ones (first link).
The Vellano ones are a bit busy for my taste, but they have enough chrome or polished details as to make them work in terms of not making the whole car look too much like a big black blob. Those could work.

I think you meant if I have to ask I'll never be one since I did ask and now I know.
I'm a middle-aged white guy, not a wannabe gangsta, so just knowing is fine with me.

Balla as in, baller. Could be from the European footballer, as in soccer player to those of us in the States. Some/many of their players are (in)famous for making the headlines like our basketball players seem to specialize in here. Not that our athletes in other sports don't also try.
UrbanDictionary.com is an entertaining source for looking up this sort of definitions, although some of it is politically incorrect (possibly hard NOT to be given the terms defined).
It mentions basketball players. I am not sure whether soccer or basketball is the original source, but have heard it in reference to soccer for years.
