We came upon a Brabus GLK with Lighting Package, Multimedia Package, Full Leather Seating Package, Heated front seats, Parktronic, Illuminated Door Sills, and Premium Package with 29,990 for $34,000 at our dealer.

Firstly, how competitive is this price?
Second, is this car a good first Mercedes Benz?
Thirdly, should I even look towards GLK or should I look at maybe a pre-owned C class or BMW 1 series?
Fourthly, are these cars rare? If we don't buy the car now, I want a similar car to be in the market in a few months.

Thanks
That price seems to be about right with all those packages. I bought a black GLK on ebay from a private seller with 12,900 miles on it for $34,250. It has the lighting, appearance package and parktronic.

No such thing as Brabus GLK, I mean there is Brabus GLK somewhere for 100-200k, just not as a mass production car.

34k for fully loaded is pretty good price, too good imo, something fishy about it. Check carfax, and make sure 3 services were done (one every 10k).

Both C class and GLK are pretty good cars. Comes down to personal preference.

Insurance company will likely drool over association of "Brabus" or "AMG" with a teenage boy.

GLK
Best Dad Ever nominee

Can you ask him which he would prefer, or is it going to be a surprise?

When I was a kid, parents had station wagons so we all grew up not wanting them since they tended to be, well, for parents. Is there a similar reaction to SUVs now that the younger generation has been brought up being driven to soccer practice in them? Are they perceived as uncool? i.e.- would he look on even a smaller SUV as being not with it?

I would check crash test results to see if the C or GLK has an edge in that department. I like to think I was a pretty good kid, but I did my share of stupid things in cars (and in other areas of life)...

The GLK may have practical advantages, e.g.- hauling his friends, sports gear, camping gear, etc. over the C.
