low fuel warning indicator

hi all..

does anyone have this problem.. i've been noticing that the low fuel warning light comes on when there's still 2 notches before E..

kinda odd that it gives the warning so soon..

yup. Same here. Mine came on pretty early. I filled it up right after it came on and only got in 15 gallons.

Same here..... I guess earlier rather than later is better. However, I don't like that while the low fuel light is on, you cannot use your display to watch your consumption or distance to empty. That part sucks!

As winter is coming with the temperatures you will have in your area, it may be an idea to keep the fuel level higher than the "2 notches", thus preventing condensation in the tank

Are you saying that if you clear the low fuel warning with the OK button you still can not see some items on the speedo display? I'll have to check that next time the warning is displayed.

indeed.. quite annoying not to view the other useful monitors when the low fuel indicator comes on..

thanks to all who replied.. so it isn't me who thinks it's a problem with 2 notches to go before filling up..

cheers

Keep in mind that the 4 obvious marking on the fuel gauge are the official markings the others around the dial match those of other gauges and might represent 1/16th of a full tank. At 19.5 Gal US do the math and you will see that 2.4 Gal is close the 2.1 Gal claim to the level that MB says thats when the indicator should light up. Close enough!

Press OK button and warning will go away. Normal display will come back.

Would you like warning light come on when tank is empty? I think on GLK with its tiny tank it's a good warning level. On my older cars I could go another 70-100 miles with light on.

Thanks for the tip! I will try the button next time! I did not know that was an option.
