Dude... you got a GLK also now in addition to the C63?

Are you changing to a different type of HID bulbs?

Here is a picture that shows the retaining spring half removed.

I do not see this on my 2012 GLK, am i missing something here? when I remove the large plastic piece, and gently squeeze (painfully) into the housing, all I feel are three small screw like features and the parking light wire....the parking light bulb does not twist out...man this is painful!!

No, it doesn't twist out. The little wire holds it in place (at least for 2011). It is supposed unhook at the bottom, then the bulb just falls out. If you accidentally unhook the top, it is a pain in the @ss to get back in. This headlight was definitely not designed for man sized hands. If you look at the picture in my post above, you will see the retaining spring and how it is supposed to click into place at the bottom. In this picture, the top pieces unclipped and it took hours to get it back in place.

I still think we are talking 2 different things possibly here, I have attached a photo I took with my camera (was very difficult fitting camera in there). If you look on the far right, that is the assembly I am trying to remove (unsuccessfully), I still must be missing something here as it wont come out!!

Designed on purpose by MB to force us to use a dealer maintenance

I think MB, by design, makes simple maintenance tasks difficult so owners are forced to use dealer maintenance and pay through the nose for things that should be pretty easy to do, i.e. change a head light bulb.

I just replaced mine. It's a simple clip. Push the top of the clip away to release. I was messing with it for a while and then it released like nothing. The only tip here is it's at the top of the bulb. It doesn't require much force just finesse.
It's easier than cornering bulb imo.

These are not for factory HID.

I didn't have good luck with cheap LEDs. I run Hikari on my Lexus that I have been pretty happy with.

The halogens or LEDs? I'm wonder if I can just replace my regular halogen H7 with these LED that looks to be similar in size. I'm sick of replacing these bulbs (almost yearly, one side or another)

The LED you listed doesn't seem like it's for factory HID/Bi-xenons, which is what this thread started about. Just clarifying.

But yes you can replace H7 halogens with H7 LEDs and get very good result. My friend did that. Go for good LEDs tho or you will continue replacing them.
