Anti Theft Led
Hi, this is my first message (sorry, I live in Italy and my english is not perfect).
I would like to order the GLK with the original anti theft package (in Europe, it is an optional) but the seller told me that the LED (under the hazard) never flashes: this is a little strange because flashing should discourage thieves.
In the interactive manual http://www4.mercedes-benz.com/manual...d10e6031.shtml is written that "Indicator lamp flashes".
Can anyone tell me if the LED flashes when the anti theft is activated?

I'm not sure if the GLK Euro version has an alarm indicator light that flashes when activated. But you should be aware that thieves know more about your car than you, we or anyone else, and when it comes to taking it off your hands, a flashing red light isn't going to stop them that's for sure! The system does disable the engine and sounds the horn.
By the way, my family are Italian Americans. But my grand parents are from Cimitile and Cicciano and came over soon after the war. Been there many times. I love it and will be going again in the spring.

I live in Turin (North Italy, Piemonte): Cimitile and Cicciano are quite distant (Campania).

When I lock my car with the key, the red indicator light flashes/blinks, like the manual says.
The German manual states the same. "Die Kontrollleuchte 1 blinkt." (lume di controllo luccicare / does this sound right ? :-)

Sorry for the confusion. I said "I'm not sure about the Euro model", but ours does have a light that flashes. Either way, thieves will take your car without a trace if they're good. Alarm systems are worthless in most cases.
