I love it... However,there are a couple of quirks.

Indicator shift seems to be in the wrong place....cruise control is too close to indicator

Kind of tight in the back - as for the legroom, but the overall car is spacious... I love the ride.

I had trouble with confusing the cruise control with the turn signal too at first, but I believe all Mercs have been like this so I've gotten used to it now.

The back is not too bad; I too would have preferred a little bit more legroom, but as you say I think the headroom makes up for that.

This is common, especially if you're coming from an American or Japanese car. Actually, once you get use to it, you'll find that they are indeed in the right place on the steering column.
