LED Light Strips
I'm thinking of adding LED strips to my GLK. Are the AMG parts available or would I have to go aftermarket?
I would splice them into the daytime running lights (DRLs).
My concern is that I would get error messages because of the change in current draw.
Anyone have experience with anything like this?

Yeah, I saw those; they don't really answer my question.
Back when cars made sense you could splice additional power leads into any hot source as long as you didn't overhelm the fuse rating. Now you can get error messages if the system does something the computer does not expect.
I have seen numerous sources of led strips ala Audi and want to add a pair. I don't want to replace anything, just add another pair of lights.
Can I just splice the leads into the DRLs' power lead or will that upset the computer?

I think I may be over-thinking this.
All I really need to do is run the power from the ignition switch or an accessory that is always on when the ignition is on. Maybe the fuse/breaker box?
Does this sound workable or is there some odd chacteristic of MBs that I am not taking into account?
