Eventual GLK?
GLK audio system questions

I should be picking up the GLK, without the HK upgrade, in a week or two so I need to iron out the details of my planned audio system.

The plan:

1) Custom sealed box with subwoofer hidden in the left rear wall of the cargo area so it doesn't take up any cargo space. Somebody else did this in their GLK but I can't find it online. Anybody have a link to the thread/picture?

I need to see how much space I can get out of the enclosure before picking the sub. I've used JL subs in the past and would like to stick with them, but I'm not too familiar with their lineup anymore. The W7 and W6 take more power than I want so those are out. At 13" diameter, the TW5 is probably too large, but super slim. That leaves the W0, W1, and W2.. depending on the power and enclosure volume which are TBD. I'll hope for a 10W3 and pray for a 12W3.

2) 5 channel amp, hidden under the back row seats or in the spare tire area. 4 channels for the speakers, 1 for the subwoofer. I'm leaning towards the JL Audio HD900/5 with 4x100w +1x500w: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=537 I'm willing to pay more for the efficiency because I've had bad experience with my electrical system before.

3) Speakers all around. The bigger the better. I think I can do 6.75" components up front but I'm not sure what I can put in the back. Years ago I rocked some Infinity Kappa speakers all around and they were sweet. Are they still legit or is there something better? http://www.crutchfield.com/s_108609C...cs.html?tp=106

4) Something to clean up the factory audio signal?

This is where I'm the most confused. Here's what I want:
- keep the factory head unit
- control bass, treble, volume from the head unit
- steering wheel volume controls still work
- avoid an additional knob if I can

Do I need the JL cleansweep, the Audiocontrol LC8, or something else?

I know I asked a lot of questions but I wanted to throw everything out there at once. Thanks for the help guys!

That's not the one, but thanks for the link. The picture/thread I remember had a built in sub enclosure in the left rear panel. It looked like a factory/stock thing. I think I have the pic on my work computer.

Hopefully Koojo will spot this thread and put a dent in my list of questions! Anybody else should offer their $.02 as well.

Edit: found it with a google search. https://mbworld.org/forums/glk-class...-glk-pics.html
