Cargo bin/box

I just purchased a 2011 Red GLK. From the different online review the 2010 GLK included a cargo bin/box. My 2011 glk did not have a cargo bin/box in the truck. Is this standard equipment?

Mine came with one. I've never used it. I think you can buy one from MB for $18. Enjoy your new ride.

Our GLK (canadian model) had one, it was located under the floor of the cargo area, it`s a collapsable box, it also included a net that you can hook up in the slots near the grab handles on the ceiling above the doors and above the rear seats near the cargo area.

Yes, I checked the cargo area. My friend purchased a CPO 2010 GLK and the collapsable box was located under the floor in the cargo area. I bought my car from the showroom floor. Maybe it was taken out mistakenly.

Thank you everyone for your response. Much appreciated.

My 2011 just came with the box too

I've got a 2011 GLK - all it had was the box hidden under the rear floor - no cargo net.

I believe it is only for Canadian's. Perhaps to soften that up here it starts at $43G.

Mine came with cargo net and box. Ironically not sure what to do with the box as it's not really strong enough to hold much.

Curious. Does this cargo net in the manner you describe act as a "dog barrier" or net separator from the front when back seats are folded down?

It can do both. There are two little hooks on the ceiling just behind the rear seatbacks, and two more hooks just behind the front seats, so the net can hang from either spot.

Just sent an email to the dealer. He apologized and told me to pick up the crate.

Great dealership.
Great forum.

Thank you all.

You should check the window sticker. The manufacturers love to put all the extras that are standard on that sticker. Curious to see if it is listed.

Thanks for the response. So if I read you correctly it "hangs" from the coat hooks in the ceiling and some how connects to the floor or seats when they are folded down? Have you seen any pictures?

As I understand it, yes that's how it connects. I've only seen the illustrations in the owner's manual and checked in the trunk to make sure I actually got the net delivered with the car. I suppose I should try it out!

Yes, the two holes above the rear doors and the 2 holes behind the rear seats connect to the top of the cargo net.

With the seats down and the net connected to the front pair of holes, the bottom simply hooks onto the 2 'tie downs' (metal half rings) in the base of the rear doors.

Otherwise behind the seats it clips into the metal 'tie downs' just behind the seats in the cargo area.

USA models do not have the lower mounting points by the rear seats, so anyone planning on getting the net from the parts department needs to also add in the lower mounting points.

We got the folding box, (love it), the cargo net, (too clumsy) and the trunk liner at no extra charge. We paid rock bottom for the vehicle as well.

Yeah, I have no interest in using the cargo net. It's still in the plastic wrap and will most likely stay there.

In Mercedes Benz RUS (Moscow, Russia) they got totally confused with my request to supply one. What they persistently offered instead was an optional separator all-metal net for dogs transportation! The net under question doesn't have a part number and they claimed it is supplied with GLKs intended for West European market.
Do you guys have any idea where I could buy one, as I couldn't find it even on E-Bay?

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

Went round and round with my dealer about that net. He finally sent me a little net with two clips on it that you may be able to fit a loaf of bread in. Because of that and other issues with the sales dept. I have never been back to them.
