FYI Logic 7 Components - Does your volume adjust for speed?
Came this accross for reference.
http://mercedes.harmankardon.com/bro.../glk-class.pdf
It says there is speed sensitive volume adjustment (SSVA), but I never noticed it really work.
On my friend's Cobalt SS volume adjustment for speed was very noticable. I didn't know untill now that GLK even had such adjustment.

Where is this SSVA setting on the radio? Can't find it in the manual.

It looks like there is no manual adjustment available. It is done automatically.
The "pdf" above states:
Speed-Sensitive Volume Adjustment (SSVA) for optimum audio impression at any time, thanks to continuous adjustment of loudness in response to the speed of the car.
....and this is what I found in a 2005 MB manual since I don't have my manual at the moment.
Automatic volume control:
The automatic volume control feature adjusts the volume depending on:
1) vehicle speed (only in vehicles w/o premium sound system)
or
2) ambient noise inside the vehicle (only in vehicles with premium sound system)
.

The DVC doesn't adjust the volume, but measures background noise (in the vehicle) by a microphone, samples it with the signals from the H/K and adjusts the affected frequencies only, according to the ambient noise.

That makes it sound like the radio might be competing against other noise in the cabin like a loud conversation?
