Now for the awakening!
My wife picked up her brand new loaded 2012 C250 Sport Sedan this weekend, and guess what? It has the new navigation system and it's light years ahead of mine! I feel cheated to say the least! Not only that, her's receives and reads out loud, text messages!!!! And, she also has the "cup of coffee" wake up notice on her system. Couple that with awesome 3-D navigation and the very cool instrumental graphics and it is worth the cost to upgrade, whatever that is. I'm really bummed that it's not in my "new car"!! What's even more amazing is that the service writers and sales people at the dealership didn't even know the text messaging was available. I registered with Navtect to be notified when an update came in. Just FYI for anyone that is interested. Thanks!

Enjoy! I got one of those lo-res salesman photos and it was a WHOLE WEEK of total torture before we could take delivery. While it seemed like the week would never end, less than 30 seconds after laying eyes on our new Precious, the week, months, years, decades of waiting were soon forgotten.

In the meantime, I have a nifty app for the Blackberry that "reads" text messages and emails to me. It is mostly turned off since I get maybe one text message a week and zero emails on my phone. Theoretically, I can reply to a text message verbally and the app will type and send a text message. I will turn it on and see if the voice comes through the car's system.
In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy blasting across half the country next week on as many backroads as I can.

It DOES NOT work through our bluetooth set ups in MB's as it is in essence another bluetooth device and doesn't work through radios. I just turned off the bluetooth check box in options on the Vinglo app and it reads the messages out loud thru my phone spkr when I have it on. Mostly use it for text msgs and not emails. To send a reply requires some hand-holding which is hard to do when driving so I never return msgs until I'm at a light or stopped but you can verbally read the reply and it will send it.
I wish BB would pay to get "Siri" the iPhone app. It is by far the best out there. Nearly human-lol! My friend who has an iPhone-4/Siri asked the voice if she loved him and the reply was really funny--she (the voice) said "I can't love you, I'm a cell phone"!. Have a great day.

I am really impressed with voice command so far. I haven't even trained it and it understands me perfectly!
