Programmed Garage Door Opener, now Door Opens at Random
Hey Everyone! I'm new to the board. I just bought a GLK350 and am glad I found this site. .
Like the thread title says, I recently programmed my garage door opener. It was working great, but shortly after, the garage door started opening randomly. It's happened 5 times within an hour this morning.
I did a Google search and most seem to say when this happens, the garage door opener could be faulty. But I find this hard to believe since the problem didn't start until I synced it with my GLK last night.
Has anyone had this problem or have any ideas how to solve it?

You didn't leave us detailed information with regard to GLK 350 MY or the kind of garage door opener, however note that "Most of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz models have a new version of Homelink garage door opening. It does sound like it might have been triggered by synching your GLK but it is your garage door that is operating erratically. Maybe the garage door opener can be reset or try unplugging it for a while to reset it. Do you have a manual for the garage door? There might be something in it about this type of malfunction.

Thanks! And it's a 2011 GLK. I cleared the codes in the car but the problem remained. I took the batteries out of the hand-held remote I had and the problem remained. So I took your advice and unplugged the garage door opener and left it unplugged for an hour. I'll post if the problem starts back up. Otherwise I'm going to program the system again and see what happens.
I have two garage doors, but I'm not sure if that matters. Only one was opening by itself.

Was the "Press and release the “learn” button on the back of your garage door opener motor head" step carried out on the malfunctioning opener when called for in the HomeLink procedure?
I would assume an opener would need receiving (interfering) signals/commands to start playing, rather than doing it on its own, after it was working OK. You don't have a neighboring wag with an handheld transmitter?
