Has anyone ever had two GLKs side by side after dark? One with the standard MB-Tex interior and the other with the leather interior? Were you able to identify the "premium interior lighting" that is included in the Leather Package?

Just curious.

Go to your local MB dealer in the eve, & ask them to set up the 2 cars side by side.
Then say "Thanks..." for wasting their time....

I have MB-Tex on my 3 year old GLK and it looks great. I would never pay extra for leather, what a waste, unless it came standard.

If you haven't figured it out yet. Perfection is a goal that many of try to achieve but never seem to reach. Just remember we are all entitled to our own opinions and that's why they make MB-Tex and Leather

Please understand I'm not trying to get the last word in but you were the one who posted the comment and I was just saying that I would not pay for leather so I would not have to wonder where my money went because it didn't go for leather. Have a wonderful holiday!!

I have seen one....not really a big difference. One thing i like is that you can control the back lights from the rear seats and I think it also has foot lights on the front seats.

Thanks. Sounds like my old car that I sold. That is good. The GLK also has red lights on the trailing edges of the doors. Visible to approaching traffic when you open the doors. Also like my old car. Also good.

Save the money (is there a point when spending close to $45K on a small SUV?) and just don't get the leather package+light package. Use the dough for the upgraded stereo or get the command.

I may have answered my question...

Front footwell lights? Don't all cars have these? Guess M-B is different. My last two cars had/have them.
Individual, left/right reading lamps over the rear seat? Nice. If anyone ever sits back there. My rear seats are the least used areas of our 3 previous vehicles.
If any of you care to know, we have heated, leather seats because the Minister of Transportation and Luxury Seating decreed it. 'Nuff said.

This is not an MB-Tex vs. Leather discussion. That question has been beat to a pulp elsewhere. Choice is good. Make the one that works for you.

The original question pertained to the "Premium Interior Lighting" included with the Leather option. We have identified the extra lights.
