New GLK Steering Noise
Hi, I've searched and don't see this problem anywhere: I have a 2012 glk with only 1500 miles on it. It makes an odd low whirring noise with certain steering maneuvers. The noise is almost like a groan.
It happens frequently when braking while steering (like in a parking situation), and very loudly if I do a hard fast u-turn.
Any thoughts? Anyone else experienced this?

Hard to tell without actually hearing it... but these Benz's use the old-style and outdated hydraulic steering pump (unlike other German companies that now use Electro-Assisted variable ratio Rack&Pinion units) that can at times make such noises. Perfectly normal. But if the noise continues afterwards, say when driving straight, you should run by your service tech for his/her opinion after a demonstration.

Thats normal for a GLK. I did also asked about that with a shop guy one time as my car did produced some strange noise while doing a 3 point turn.

Definition of what constitutes a vehicle that is a "lemon" is: any new vehicle that has a substantial problem that isn't fixed within a reasonable number of attempts, or that has had a certain number of days out of service.
