Need mph on the odometer
The 2007 Maxima I traded had this convenient item, especially as we live only 2 miles north of the U.S. border and frequently drive into the U.S. It saves a lot on mental calculations.
My owners manual shows, in one of the photos, a small digital read out in mph located just above the temperature display. Even this would be real handy. I have gone through the various options, I can change the kph to mph but only for the trip portion, showing miles traveled and fuel consumption in mpg but no where can I find the mph display?
Also is there any way to change the temperature from C to degrees F?
Any help would be appeciated.
In case you don't have one....you can download it here: https://mbworld.org/forums/glk-class...l?ref=esp-link

I do have the GLK manual Edition A 2010 and on page 108 there is a heading for DIGITAL SPEEDOMETER and it says to select the TRIP menu and then scoll up or down to select the digital speedometer....when selected
I can get a digital speedometer replacing the distance driven since last reset and the total number of miles or km since new but it is in KMH and doesn't seem to be able to be changed to MPH.
But under SETTINGS if you scroll down to the digital thermometer it asks if you want to change it and I assumed it would change from dgrees C to degrees F but as I just discovered the digital thermometer is replace by the digital speedometer in mph.
Looks like it will be a choice between knowing what the outside temperature is and your speed in mph (just when we travel in the U.S.) which is no big deal.
Anyway I think it's the best I will get and I'm happy. It would be nice if I could get the temperature in degrees F but I can live with Celcius.
The Mercedes Benz fairy must have been working overnight....I went out to the garage to take a photo of what I was looking at last night when I responded to your reply and low and behold I have exactly the same configuration as you! More than enough to keep me happy.
Having been raised with degrees F and at 71 years old finding it difficult to adapt it looks like I'll have to suffer because unless you have a suggestion it doesn't look like I can change that temperature display.
I totally agree with that if all else fails read the manual but some times it's hard to decode what it's saying.
The reason why I'll (for the present) keep the trip odometer in miles is because I would like to see my fuel consumption on mpg and not km per litre. When they say 9.6 litres per 100 km it means absolutely nothing to me, just old school I guess.
I appreciate your help.
