HELP! - HID Star Coding
Hi all. I am new to the forum and need some help.
My 2012 GLK350 is currently sitting at the dealership. I installed an aftermarket HID kit, and asked them to change the coding to xenon-present.
This is what they claim to have found.
"We tried to code for the xenon lights but the control module immediately
switches to what we call "SCN" coding. This means that the car already is
hard coded not to have xenon lights and in order to change this we would
need to have Mercedes-Benz remotely go into the control module and update
the coding to include xenon lights. We cannot do this because the lights
are aftermarket."
Anyone know what else I can do? Please help.
Thanks.

That's what you needed to do. I installed the Philips HID kit with their additional harness that eliminates all errors. They work great.
The extra harness includes resistors, a relay and a 25 amp fuse.
Blew the fuse the first week, but it was my fault. Poor installation. It's been 90 days and no flickering or fuse issues.
