door latch broken
My drivers interior door latch just went limp and doesn't seem to be connected to anything so I had to reach out and open the door from the outside. Under warranty but curious if anybody else has had this failure? Where can I see a door diagram so I can speculate on what happened - could be something simple I am guessing.

Sounds like the actuator rod fell off one end, either at the door handle or the locking mechanism.
Fixing it is easy but opening up the door (and closing it back up!) is not.
By all means let the dealer handle it, especially if it's still under warranty.

Dealer answer
Took it to dealer and they took off the door panel and found the inside handle casting had broke where the door latch cable attaches - that is rare as I have had 14 Mercedes and never had that problem before. Anyway part ordered easy to fix tomorrow at Dealer.

still waiting
Going on three weeks now waiting for the driver door inside latch back ordered part! Apparently some C class cars have had the same problem and they have to order the whole door panel even though the handle can be replaced. Dealer says some bad castings of the door handle probably. It seems crazy because they are building GLK's every day with the same parts but they can't get me one for my new 2012 GLK. I wrote MBUSA customer service and told them I was afraid to drive the car because in an emergency I couldn't get out quickly. They are quick to have me renew mbrace subscription but what good is the technology when the simple things are backordered and I am not driving the car.!

Mine will be replaced on Tuesday (the whole inner door panel). The plastic casing where the door pull is also cracking.
