Mud Guards/Flaps 2012 GLK
Dealer tells me mud guards don't have screws and only stick on..Did they used to screw on with self tapping screws?
Anyone know if this is true?

It is screwed on in several places. Here is the installation guide.

Yes indeed. Installed pre-delivery on 2012 GLK350 last year. Screwed on. Lots of them. The person you talked to at the dealership doesn't know squat. Chances are good that the person actually installing them will know.
