The $47 number in pencil is with USAA estimated discount (buyer service) all before taxes, tags and title.

The GLK250 was officially offered for sale in the US as of yesterday, dealer deliveries should have begun yesterday but I would assume most dealers will receive their first cars over the weekend or Monday.

Today it's official
Today it's official with MSRP $38,590 on their web site:
http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/vehicl...model-GLK250BT I am surprised with price difference for the Pre-Paid Maintenance plan between GLK250 and GLK350. For diesel 5 years or 50,000 miles is $3,045, but for gas version is $1,679. Why is it so big difference? Are they trying to make money on service? AdBlue cost ~$11 for 2.5gal in the local store, Fuel filter is due to replace every 40K. What else causing price difference? |

so let us know...runflats or pump kit instead of spare?
congrats by the way |
Initial report on the 250. Gas mileage better than the 29 MPG EPA rating on the sticker. Great pick up with very quick acceleration. Ride is pretty smooth considering they are riding on runflats. Overall, I am very happy. First half tank got around 35 MPG but it is still breaking in.

sgcarroll, what are your thoughts on the wheels? ! ordered a GLK250 with Appearance Package expecting the 20" wheels that are on the GLK350 and now I see that the wheels will be different on the 250. I am not real happy about this because I really liked the 20's. However, the 19's you have (and that I will be getting) are pretty nice looking too.
Also, hope to get mine by the weekend! Black on tan, appearance pkg, multimedia pkg, lane assist, keyless go, heated seats, and trailer hitch! |
Can anyone say how quiet is the motor? And is the AdBlue fill in the gas tank fill area? None in my area as of yet.
|
Inside the cabin very quiet - a bit more 4 cylinder "tick" as compared to V6.
Download updated 2013 GLK owner's manual from mbusa.com in the Owner's Support section. DEF fill is rear cargo compartment - buy a MB bottle and cutoff the bottom to use as a fill-funnel. Runs like a champ - the torque give the GLKJ much more "backbone" thru the chassis - my fav in the GLK. In Illinois - yes - you have BioDiesel issue to deal with. Keep the beat ! |

The Appearance package on the 250 is 19" - the 350 is 20". The wheels are just different, but in an interesting way - its like the recesses of the spokes are color painted to the body. I'll post a close up tomorrow night. It will grow on you. Someone asked if the engine is quiet - exceptionally so. Now I need to know which of my stations has diesel. Found one near work, now need to find my home pumps. Really enjoying this model.

From what I understand its a costlier oil for the service (I could be wrong on this one but I know its a different oil than what the gas motors use) and the adblue is not bought off the shelf at a local store so the pricing is based off the tech time to ensure the system is properly refreshed and uses the M-B part for the adblue refill which is available in a liter Jug. As with everything its cheaper if you DIY, but they have to pay M-B labor rates to a tech and pay for the parts based on the off the shelf price at a M-B dealership.

We went about 4 blocks and I knew she would want it. I think it is very quiet. Power? Not enough O's in smooth! Compared to my E350 it is incredibly quiet. I loved it. Oh, we went next door o the Acura dealer and she never even wanted ot test drive it. She sat in in and said, Let's go back. I took her to Audi to see the Q5. Sat in that and she said "Nope". Lexus, "nope". Back to MB. |
As an FYI, the 250 does not have the auto start/stop feature which I am SO thankful for. I hate it on every car I have been in that had it.
As for a post on the sound of the GLK250. In the cabin with windows up at idle the engine clatter is not noticeable unless you are trying to hear it. With the windows you can hear it. Standing outside the vehicle at idle, it is very apparent that it is a diesel, but not like a Ford F250. My wife even asked "are you sure it is supposed to sound like that?" So yes it IS still a diesel. Once you press the accelerator the sound goes completely away and the engine is no more noisy than a gas engine. Quite remarkable really. It is so smooth at speed. For those that are wondering, yes, it has run flats. |
