I believe new SOP is to change transmission fluid at 39,000 miles.

Make sure they drain the torque converter as it is often neglected by the dealer despite containing a bit less than half the fluid.

Don't take NO for an answer. If you need, there are several VERY good stickys about the 722.9 transmission in the W204 forum.

You and your dealer are way late. The change is indicated between 36k and 40k miles depending on where you are in the world. Torque converter drain is a MUST! The correct, complete drain & refill requires 9 quarts of fluid in round numbers. Good luck finding a dealer who will do the job right. The 2 that I have talked to only want to drain half the fluid and charge the same as doing the entire fluid change.
Ps: this is not a "1 and done service." Required every 36-40k miles.

Not really. The fluid level is set according to a very specific temperature to achieve overflow from the vent. No doubt there are very well equipped folks who can DIY. Search this forum for the exact procedure. If the vehicle is still under warranty, I reckon it is best to pay a dealer to do it. The ATF requirement is posted online-I think on an M-B site. suffice to say that it is expensive. The last posting I saw with dealer price for a complete change of fluid was in the $350 range which included 9 quarts/liters of fluid.

coming from VAG vehicles that uses the VAGCOM to check the ATF at a certain temp and opening up the drain hole and waiting for it to dribble is not a problem for me.
