GLK 350 2010
Smile Remote start in Toronto?

I am wondering if anyone can recommend a store/shop in Toronto which installs "remote start" addon? I have GLK 350, 2010. This addon supposed to start the car from a big distance so it would be warmed up while I am leaving the office.

I've searched the forum, and there are amazing suggestions but mostly US-related, so I am wondering if anyone knows a bodyshop in Toronto.

I called the official MB dealership and they don't install the "remote start" feature as expected.

No idea, just saw their ad.... I think it best to give them a call, and feel them out... maybe report back

Just called them,
1. One mile remote (no satellite) costs $1350
2. Drone (satelllite) costs $1500 + $10 monthly payment.
Very expensive.

If it was $350 bucks and I could install it myself or for $100-200 fee - I would go for it. Any other solutions?

can I do remote start or if I buy $550 one? Looks like triple economy to DIY.

Make sure system will work with your vehicle. Most places will sell you basic starter for cheap, but than you need to buy 700$ worth of additional modules to work with you car.

2013 Infiniti G37 Coupe; 2011 GLK 350 w/ Premium 1, Multimedia & Sport Appearance; I LOVE IT!
Those used to be available from J.C. Whitney for about $100.

All this technology is all well and good, but it's pricey!

I was told by MB that a remote starter is not recommended on the GLK. Something to do with bypassing the anti theft function, and having someone cut into your wires. I don't know if anyone has a remote starter installed and if they have any issues with it. Not something I would do, would hate to have electrical problems down the road.

I found this link that has remote starters if you want to take a look... it's a bit expensive though..
