Newbie Advice
Hello, i am taking delivery on a 2010 Glk Friday 3/1....I thought that the Glk was the nicest looking suv on the market since its arrival and it was time to trade up, so i made the jump..I am coming from 3 acuras ( 2 Rsx and then RDX ) The Acuras were bulletproof...I sure hope i can expect the same from MB....
Anybody else out there come from Acura? Early thoughts?
Anything I should know or ask MB on Friday...GLK has 62k on it, with the premium and sport packages....
Thx
Kris

2010 GLK
Did you get the vehicle certified pre-owned with the extended MB warranty?
- Transmission/Transfer case whining noise?
- Wiper fluid reservoir leaking?
- Last service date...service B or A maybe coming up sooner then you expect.
My GLK has been a very good vehicle currently at 52,000 km.

I am getting 2010 GLK with 12k tomorrow. On the warranty utill November plus 2 years MB certified. They want to sell me 3 year extended (starts after warranty is over in November and replaced MB Certified) for $1800. I am not sure that I need this "piece of mind" as I don't put more than 8k a year. What do you think, brothers and sisters?

I did in fact purchase the 7 year extended warranty (2100$) and the service reports showed both service A and B have been completed...They replaced all the brake pads on all four wheels, under warranty....Rotors were like new according to the service manager....I will mention the washer fluid container and transmission issue

How many miles does this have on it to have chewed through a full set of pads already? I'm taking that its under 30k- since only service A and B have been completed. Is that the normal lifespan for these pads or is it a little short? Seems like that may be an indication of some abuse if its on the short end- some people are very hard on brakes and some still "ride" them.

I'm from the Acura family as well. Had a CSX (canadian only) followed by 2 TLs. All were trouble free as expected. Had a 2010 GLK before my 2013, both are NOT trouble free if you want to search the forum but when they run properly, they're great cars. Good luck!!

it's a great car kris don't get me wrong
it's a complex machine so things are more likely to go wrong compare to the relatively simple Acuras. I'm sure any problems is in the minority as there's tons of GLKs around.

I have a 2010 purchased in Jan '09 with 45K. A and B services are done alternately every 10K. I had had very few problems with mine still have the original brakes (mostly highway driving) and I decided after hearing that the extended warranty on mine would be $2300 I passed. Lots of luck with yours.

I picked up the car Friday and i'm really impressed...Not a mark outside and inside is like new...
MB Laval treated me like i was buying a 125k G550 too, really nice people..
Extremely impressed with performance and highway gas mileage...Since i had a 9 hour drive to pick it up, i had 9 hours on the way back to really put it through its paces...![drive](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/driving.gif)
I did get a service alert that my drivers side low beam headlight was out, i checked and it was...Next time i started the car it was back on...
Bad connection maybe?
I have read in the forums that they eat H7 headlight bulbs....
Thanks for the responses guys!!
