2014 Mercedes GLK 250 Bluetec
iPod/iPhone Control

Hi all, I'm pretty new to the forum...

I can't seem to get a straight answer to my questions about this when I asked in other threads, so I figured maybe I would make a thread to specifically address this question....

I cannot afford to buy a loaded GLK, so if I get one it will be a base model with no premium package, and I would be leasing it. I realize I may have to order the vehicle to get one that way, but that's not a problem.

One of the things I like to do in my current vehicle (which is a cheap Scion) is play music from my iPhone. However, I keep the phone in my pocket. I control it by using the controls on the radio (or voice controls), which allows me to stream my music by bluetooth.

Sometimes I also put the iPhone inside the center console and plug it into the USB port there. Then I can still control it from the radio controls, and it also shows me the album artwork on the radio screen.

I see there is a stand alone option called "Media Interface" (which is also part of the premium package) which can be added for about $300. Will this allow me to do what I do in my Scion? Or do I have to add the whole COMMAND package? Because if I would have to add that package to be able to do this, then I think the GLK is not the car for me as it would be too expensive.

If someone can please explain the various packages and what features each package/option adds with regard to streaming music by bluetooth and also using an iPhone plugged into the USB port, that would be much appreciated.

Maybe tell me what the features are for:

1) total base model

2) base model with "media interface" option

3) loaded model with COMMAND package

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
