Engine model in GLK250?
Hi There,
I'm doing my homework and I'm trying to determine the engine that they put in the GLK250 so I can research the long-term reliability, potential mods, etc.
So far, I think I've determined it's the: OM651, which appears in the C and E class...is that correct?
I currently have a Jeep Liberty CRD (diesel) and there are several important mods we do to extend the life of the engine--one of which is to re-route the CCV blow-by gasses though an oil catch-can. If not, several important sensors (not to mention the entire intake manifold) get really gummed up with oily soot. How do MB Diesel owners get around this?

Engine is a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder with two turbos, one smaller the other to help eliminate lag from start. No help on the engine but it has been available in the Euro markets for several years. The urea injection may avoid the problems with the CRD diesel. This one is a high pressure direct injection, quite an upgrade from the CRD equipped diesels.

pretty sure it's classified as a 2.2 litre engine, at least that's what it is advertised as here in Canada. The actual displacement is 2143 cc. Some coin it as a 2.1 litre, some as a 2.2 litre.
