Well after reading this thread and encountering the engine light on my 14 250 I became paranoid. I was getting the same symptoms as a lot of people (minus the ad blue message). I took it into my dealer which was aware of the problems with a blue (that wad good and they said they would look at the software). After the review they found I had a faulty sensor in my exhaust which is being fixed on Monday. Anyways lesson is before jumping to conclusions and diagnosis your suv like webmd get it Checked out.

Those who received the Adblue error below didn't need to jump to any conclusions!
These 2014 GLKs are under warranty and errors like this will no doubt be taken to a dealer for diagnosis. I just feel bad for those who are a long way from nearest dealer. You wouldn't expect these problems on a brand new Mercedes in it's second year of production.

Bought my 2014 GLK250 on Labor Day. At 1980 miles I got the "10 starts remaining" warning. My dealer replaced the blue tec system. Yesterday I got the same warning at 3325 miles. Returned to the dealer this morning. They are supposedly recoding the computer to be compatible. I really don't think I want this car back but neither do I want another one with the same problems. Is there anything that can be done?

Luckily the Adblue thing is not a problem with a major component. There were no problems with the 2013 GLK250. Just too bad they messed up on the 2014s.
You might want to read back in this thread and see approx when the updated Adblue software was first mentioned ( I checked - it was about Oct 29th). Then check if your first repair was before or after that. If it is after, then obviously their fix is not working. Seems some cars also had faulty NOx sensors. If it was before, then perhaps new fix will work.
Please let us know how you make out.

2014 GLK250 BlueTEC, 2012 BMW 335is Conv.
I took delivery of my GLK250 today. I specifically asked my salesperson about the AdBlue problem. He checked with the service department. They are aware of the problem and have a "memo" (his word) from Mercedes about it. They are applying the fix for customer cars coming in with the problem, but any GLK250 that went through VPC (Vehicle Processing Center, where it goes after it gets off the ship) after late October will have the fix applied at VPC.

Our GLK250 had another failure about a week ago after the software update and is still at the dealership. Are we the only ones who had a Adblue failure after the "software fix"?

adblue failure
Actually, mine has failed twice. The first time on 10/21/13, they replaced my whole blue tec system. The second time, 11/17/13, and the car is still at the dealership being worked on. The service manager said he would call me by noon. Haven't heard from him as yet.

After the updated software fail my car was returned to the dealership where it has been for over a week. Received a update call from the dealer today. They were instructed by MB to replace the rear NOx sensor ( both NOx sensors were replaced on the first failure), run the car, record the data and send it back to Germany. My car is now three months old and has spent more than half of that time at the dealership. Anyone else have a failure after the software update?

car is back
I received my car back from the dealer yesterday. They updated the software twice and sent info back to Mercedes both times. This has put a good bit of miles on my car, back and forth to dealer in another town and test driving it. They seem assured that it is now fixed. Time and miles will tell.

Did your dealer acknowledge they'd had the same issue with other GLK250's? Is there a long-term fix coming from MB to resolve this?

Invoice reads: CDI faults: P2BAAFA; P13DF00 Performed short test. Charged battery and verified the adblue level is full. Create PTSS Case#....... They instructed us to follow L149.20-P-057619 Connected SDS and performed special procedure test for DTC P2BAAFA. Erase faults. Select function chain menu and followed test steps as described in Xentry.
Adaptation values would not reset. Performed the regeneration of diesel particulate filter 2 times while test driving 32 miles. Contacted PTSS and they said perform the LI bulletin again. Started the procedure over again and this time the adaptation values reset. Performed the regeneration of diesel particulation filter 2 times while test driving another 45 miles. Performed short test and found no faults stored. Released car to customer.

My dealer said it was a software problem. I am the only one they have sold with a problem so far. I bought my car on September 4th. When mine failed the second time, they had just received a bulletin about the problem. It's sad but it has really taken the "bloom" off the new car for me. The dealer has been extremely helpful and I know it isn't their fault. ML

I am hesitant to put ourselves in that situation.
One option may be to just not accept delivery of car.
Any thoughts? Just not feeling good about this car

I'm in precisely the same boat as you sir. My GLK250 is being built in the current Decade Build in Bremen, and will very likely be shipped by the end of this month.
This is clearly a known problem. That said, what we don't know is the percentage of GLK250's affected by this AdBlue/CEL issue. It appears to be a great car otherwise. I hate to "cut my nose off to spite my face" and refuse delivery when in fact this problem may only be affecting a small percentage of the total GLK250's being exported to the USA and Canada.
The above said, even a "small percentage" is hardly reassuring if you're amongst those receiving a car with this problem, especially given your upcoming long-distance travel plans and the potential need for a loaner while on-the-road should the problem arise. Have you discussed your concern with your dealer? I'd be curious as to how they'd address it with you.
The good news on my end is I've still got a few weeks to make a decision. I'd hate to loose my $1,000.00 USD deposit, however I'm hoping MB will come clean during the interim and reassure buyers such as you and I that they've got this problem resolved.

My feeling is that MB will sooner or later completely correct the adblue problem. From reading this forum, I am not so sure they yet have it licked.
If I was staying close to home where I have other cars, I would have no problem. It is just being in unfamiliar territory at a dealer who does not know me that I get uneasy. If they are busy, and the problem does not get corrected quickly, I would be driving a rental car for a week or more. Not the end of world, but we did not buy a new Mercedes to have problems. In fact we bought it to eliminate such problems, at least for a while.
I contacted MB Canada. They advised me "Please note that the concern with the adblue sensor stems from a software issue that has been resolved with a software update. As such your vehicle will receive the update either before leaving the factory or during the pre delivery inspection (PDI)."
I just hope they are right!
Apparently if we have a breakdown while in USA, roadside assistance will cover $600 in transportation and $500 in accommodation costs. I imagine we have to pay these, then claim them back. I need to talk to dealer about that.

I emailed MB Canada from their website.
Received the reply from a customer service agent.
Could have called, but really wanted written reply.
My car is in Canada somewhere. We will likely accept delivery and rely on MB treating us right, should things go wrong.

Sorry, haven't been online is a while. No more problems with the Adblue system since my dealer replaced the NOx sensor and re-calibrated for the new sensor. Not sure if the new software was used. The post indicating that the new software is available was a few days after mine was fixed.
