2013 GLK250 Mini Review first 15K!

Just thought I would post some feedback as it goes in for its first service!

Main issues:

1) Transmission is choppy in my opinion. The excuse is that its a turbo diesel... my thought is - $50K+ vehicle - should drive smooth . Noticed that it gets lost in gears on slow corners as well as hanging in gear sometimes - usually 4th going 50Km/h and revs are stuck at 2.5K... Dealership took it for a test drive - 12KM worth - claim its fine.

2) Brakes from day 1 have felt soft and lately make noise for the first 3-4 stops - dealership claims type of brakes and seasonal change in weather - I say - $50K+ car @ 15K KM's should not make brake noise...

3) I have a tinging/rattling/ringing noise at cold start up usually and make a little more noise when first putting it in reverse - dealership claims its because its a diesel and did not hear it after keeping it over night - had wife and 3 golf buddies hear it on 3 diff occasions...

Plus side - lots of head turning looks, fantastic on hwy mileage - 1200KM/tank, smooth overall ride, beautiful interior and exterior... and its an MB!

One other downside - 15K service interval and having to do DEF.. total bill is $500! Yes I know I can do the DEF myself but have been busy and did not have time to look into DIY...

Despite those minor issues, I would not hesitate to buy this SUV again...

Do you know how much of the $500 service was just the DEF? 200 dollars?

With the transmission, in sport mode I think it works much better. I feel my brakes are soft too but dont make any noise

REview

I might drive it in S for a bit see if its better... I do all my driving in E

I believe base cost was around $350 for the service so DEF is close to $200. I will know more when I pick it up later today.

I have called them to find out the cost to DIY.

** Dealership just called total price on the service including DEF is $380 - apparently the previous quote was on a GL.. **
