Smile European delivery for Canadian purchase - questions

Hi guys - I'm new here and looking to be a new GLK250 owner. I've searched quite a bit for details on the Canadian ED purchase details, but only seem to find USA details.

Is it about right to expect the ED discount to be 7% off of MSRP + waiving of delivery and freight charges? Is there incentive related to airfare? (I read 2 for 1 Luthansa on the USA details). Is there a published set of details on the CDN ED plan?

How does ED work with a trade-in? As far as I've read it could be 3+mo before the car arrives at the dealer.

Do additional local incentives apply, like waiving 3 mo payments, assuming those are still in effect when delivered?

Thank you!

See http://www.mercedes-benz.ca - search for "european delivery" - that may be a good starting place. Odd that there doesn't seem to be a direct link to the European Delivery program, but at least there appears to be one since there is a FAQ for it.

If it's anything like the U.S. program, you'll need to work with a local dealer.

I did US version of ED last summer, but from reading FAQ section on Canadian website I do not see anything similar to US ED benefits. All I see is a free factory tour, probably free 15 days of insurance and that's all. For shipping I read "additional charges apply", drop off locations are the same. Full payment for the vehicle is 35 days in advance in Canada, in US it was 10-15 days in advance.
There is no 2 for 1 air tickets anymore at least in US starting 2013.

Also I had a problem with finding a loan from US bank for my purchase - nobody wanted to give me a loan for the "air" - not produced/build car. Banks wanted to have a Title within 15 days of loan funding, which is not possible with ED - the actual Title application is made by dealer on/after car arrival in US/Canada, a few months later. The financing was possible only with Mercedes Financing on their terms with higher %.

As far as trade-in, local incentives, etc. - this is between you and your dealer.

In short there is no clear description of this program on MB Canada website, so I would call them directly with your questions.

I could add that my dealer offered me additional 3% off MSRP on the top of all MB USA ED program incentives - total ~11.5% off MSRP.
