Low beam lighbulb turns pink/red.
Hi guys,
Just noticed yesterday on my GLK 2010 (101,000km) the low/high beam light bulb (at the passenger side only) started glowing with noticeable pink/red color.
Is it the way how xenon lamps are dying? Or it could be generator which generates low voltage for the lamp (the other lamp is fine though) so I assume since it could be the same generator so the generator should be ok.

I don't know for sure but my guess is there is a module in each headlight unit. I have not heard of this problem before so it could be a weak bulb with too big a gap for the spark to arc across, a failing module or perhaps a bad ground. I would check the ground first.

A guy in the dealership told me that. I am in Canada. I also know that by the color temperature of the light and by the shape of the lamp lens. Plus the pink color is it dying color specifically for xenon bulb. I replaced the bulb a month ago and now it is running great. But the price is $225 for one.
