Diesel aroma
I've had my BlueTec for about three months. I sometime notice a diesel fuel
smell after exiting the vehicle. It seems to be coming from the engine bay.
When sniffing at the windshield base from the drivers side it's noticeable, not
so much on the passenger side. Doesn't happen after every use. Haven't
seen any drip spots on the garage floor. I suspect it might be a slight weeping
from the high pressure fuel lines. Anyone else have a similar experience?
I'll be taking it to the dealer in the near future to have them check it out.

I mentioned the diesel aroma problem when I took it in for the A service.
They found a leak in the fuel line, didn't get the details. They had to order
the part Still in the shop after 10 days. At least I got a loaner GLK.

Picked up the GLK today after 2 weeks. The fuel line leak came from a crack in a
stainless steel line where it was welded to a splitter connection. From the service
report they had to remove the transmission, exhaust and a whole lot more to get at
this hidden pipe. As a result of the long delay I received the "A" service free! The use
of a GLK loaner for the duration meant no hardships. Mercedes of Ft. Washington, PA
gets my nod for a job well done. My thanks to my service rep Mark Brookshaw for
keeping me informed and taking good care of this customer.
