2011 GLK350/Base, Upgrade to install RV Cam and BT audio Streaming
I bought a GLK350 (CPO) few days back, and am researching on how to have a backup camera and BT Audio streaming installed. I have the 5" screen, so I don't see the RVC option in the engineering menus.
I talked to a premium car audio installer, and they said I have couple of options
1) Get the Mercedes UMI, which will give NAV and BT and install an aftermarket RV camera. (~$3500)
2) Get an aftermarket bt & rv camera module, no nav. (~$2500)
Wondering if anyone else has had success with upgrading the system with a 7" display & command system that does not wreck the warranty or if there are other options I can get.

So I went ahead with a "premium installer" here in SoCal and installed the UMI & Backup camera. The UMI gives me the Nav and iPod Streaming capabilities. However the bluetooth streaming is iffy. Choppy performance, frequent disconnects. Navigation is solid and integrated very well.
The backup camera install went sideways, where sometimes the camera does not flip back even on engaging P or N or D. Other times on reversing the backup camera keeps flipping back n forth showing the back up view for few seconds and reverting to the previous screen. There seems to be no fixed pattern. Any thoughts why this could be happening ?
I have mailed the installer and am waiting for the response. I am guessing its a bad trigger ?

*Update* Took the car up to the installer and he added a relay switch to the camera, which fixed the rear view camera issue. However the bluetooth on the UMI interface remains flaky. (Which the installer had warned about). I can post pictures if anyone is interested.
