What are your future plans for your GLK?
1. Own for 1 year
2. Own for 2 years
3. Own for 3 years
4. Own for 4 years
5. Own for 5+ years
6. No plans
7. Own until I no longer can drive a car
8. Own forever - it will become a family heir loom

I plan on keeping my car, i usually don't sell any of the cars i own or going to own in the future. It is a great reliable car and i am so attached to it and it's my daily use!

4. Own for 4 years
5. Own for 5+ years
Waiting to see if the new GLK will look/perform good. Else, onto another model.
**everything is subject to change. LOL!

In my situation it will come down to whether the market value of the GLK250 will hold up when my lease is over next June.
I'm on a 2-yr, 12K mi/yr lease and the (in my opinion over-inflated) residual determined by MBFS was 72%, which is just over $32K. I'm quite positive it will not be worth that much even if I manage to keep the miles down to 20K, which is possible.
However, I looked through the pre-owned MB inventory within a 300-mi radius of my area (NE) for 2012 GLK350's with an upper mileage limit of 30K and a lot of them (similarly or better equipped compared to mine, some CPO'ed and some not) had listed prices of $30K and up.
And given that diesels tend to hold their values a bit better than gassers, that pre-determined residual may possibly fall in line with the market value next year. If that's the case I'd be tempted to buy it out at the end of the lease as I like the vehicle.
I do realize the listed prices do tend to have some wiggle room (for negotiation) depending on multiple factors. But what do you guys think? That the more realistic residual should be around 62-66% instead (of 72%)?

Just bought another one after two year. From 2012 to 2014. Same color so people who work for me won't notice it at first glance I changed cars and secretly cuss me out....
Beige to brown interior.
regular to AMG body
19" stock to 20" AMG
and some other crap.

congrats jtse on the new car. I'm planning to keep mine for prob 6 to 8 years. given I only drive 10K a year, my previous 2010 lease was returned with 34,000kms. decided to buy this one outright as it made more financial sense. hope its trouble free

I'm keeping it until I fall out of love with it. That's usually about 5 years but I secretly hope it will be a lot longer. It should have about 150,000 miles on it at that point and that's usually a make or break point.

jtse- congrats! Don't fool yourself into thinking that the coworkers won't notice- the new one is much better looking. Enjoy!

We will keep it at least seven years. In process of doing some changes (2013 20"wheels, accessory roof rails & aero pkg. panels frt & rr.) on our 2010 as a refresh. If the 2015 is the same body style, will look for one a year or two old.

36 month lease, looking to get out in 30 months or slightly less depending on what my next vehicle will be. Also looking to keep future leases to 24-27 months, I hate owning cars too long lol

My wife doesn't like changing vehicles often. The GLK replaced her 6 year old Toyota Yaris. If she can keep a Yaris for 6 years and be happy, I'm sure she'll want to keep the GLK for a long time!

Trying to get an idea on how much depreciation I should expect on a 2-yr old GLK. Thanks!
