Engine Temperature

Hi all!

I took delivery of my 2014 GLK350 last week. LOVE it so far!

Question on what to expect for the normal engine temperature... The gauge on the dash reads from 40 C to 120 C. Most of the recent cars I've driven, I expect the normal operating temperature to fall in the middle of the gauge. In this case, that would be 80 C. Even though its still cool out, mine seems to sit just under the 100C mark.

Just wondering if thats normal or if mine is running a bit warm?

Thanks!

Mine runs the same. I checked this forum nd learned that it is normal to run around the 90 degree mark.

From the heat of Phoenix to the relative cold of Seattle (40-50 F), I get around 100 F.

90 degrees C has been true for both our gasoline and dlesel GLKs. Some variation according to outside temps, but nothing drastic...+/- 5 deg C.

Mine has always been a little over the half-way mark since it rolled out of the dealer lot GLK 2014. Also wondered if that was normal operating temp.
