Harman Kardon
I am looking for a GLK 2013 or later with less than 20k miles
How do I know if the car has Harman Kardon ? There is a branding on speakers on front door? Not seeing many listed.... wondering may be not all cars shows that branding...
thanks.

I believe 2012 and older models had HK included in the premium 1 package, but they took it out of that package in 2013/later model. I might be wrong, but either way, if it has HK speakers then it will be badged on the front speakers.

yep it became a stand-alone option in later years, I thought as early as 2011 maybe 2012.

Yes, there was a Premium Package Without Panorama that was offered for a period of time. It's possible, although not common, for a 2013 to have the premium package but not have the panorama roof. 2014s don't have that option.

The 2014 GLK sales brochure shows the Harmon Kardon Logic system is available as a separate option. Our 2007 E350 has the Harmon Kardon system, and the tuner is far less sensitive tuning stations than our 2014 GLK.

I am able to add HK without multimedia package. Anybody know what is option 'Audio 20'? mbusa web search shows it as an option. Thanks.

Did NOT want the sunroof but when I factory ordered, that wasn't an option. In a brief window prior to the build in April, 2013, it was offered for about one week and when my sales guy advised me of it we changed. I have the Harman Kardon in mine with the AMG option and Premium package.
Here it is @ factory delivery:

For me it was a no-brainer. Interested in the smaller wheelbase and what I perceive to be be better German-built quality of the GLK to the American and Alabama built quality of the ML. I was not disappointed in my examination of both before purchase, plus I wanted to drive around Europe anyway!

My GLK250 stickered at $58k (it's pretty much fully loaded, although there were about two more boxes I could have checked) but a ML350BT with the same options stickered just shy of $70k. If I needed the larger vehicle then it would have been fine, but I wasn't too interested in spending $12k to get worse fuel mileage and some extra space that I didn't need.
So anyway, just break it down. With regard to both features and size, what do you need and what do you want? What would each vehicle actually cost equipped the way you want? Don't forget to consider things like taxes, insurance, and fuel costs between the two vehicles. In the end, which ends up being the better value for you? Only you can answer that.

You guys convinced me, well more like help me with the decision. It'll be my daily driver, so don't need a big SUV. But like the practicality of GLK. Now the search is on, assuming my current car can hold up, I have time till October. Any suggestion on DC area dealers welcome. Leaning towards 350, learned 2015 bring no significant change. Thanks for the inputs.

Which side of DC? I haven't been to any of the dealers in NoVA, but in Maryland:
Euro Motorcars in Bethesda, ask for Danny. High volume, hundreds of cars in stock. Danny is capable of thinking outside the box for test drives, which is good because traffic in that area is terrible. This is not a dealership where you're going to go and walk around a huge lot looking at cars on your own, so if you're that type of "I'm just looking, leave me alone" sort of shopper, you'll be disappointed. Many of their cars are stored on offsite lots, but they will fetch for you whatever you want, including cars you don't want to buy but just want to see a different color or whatever the case may be. If you see one online that you like, call ahead and they'll make sure it's ready when you get there; otherwise they're happy to fetch but you might have to wait a bit.
Mercedes-Benz of Silver Spring, ask for Vacar. I'm recommending this one based on what I've heard from other people. They're a popular dealership in my area. I tend to stop here after visiting BMW and Audi just up the road but they never had what I wanted in stock so I have not even test driven here. I know Vacar personally, but I don't stand to gain anything if you buy a car from him.
Mercedes-Benz of Hagerstown, ask for Andre, if you're up for a drive to the country. Smaller dealership with not as many choices in stock, but excellent customer service. They've won the Best of the Best award multiple times.

I am in NOVA, sorry should've mentioned. Thanks for all the dealer info, I will check their inventory too.
Well I tinkered with the config and below is what I arrived at...
GLK350
Black, appearance pkg, Lighting pkg
Beige (mb tex), ambient light, heated steering
Multimedia pkg, Prem pkg, Harman Kardon, Heated seats, Key less
4 Matic, Lane Tracking pkg, Trailer hitch
Totals $53,355
Now will hunt for the deals
Will also look for CPO / pre owned if I can find the same config at a good price.
I also want to check the blue in person.

I have the Lunar Blue. It's not common in this area, which is part of why I bought it. The color is available on other models, though, so if you can't find a GLK in blue, you can probably at least see the color itself on a different car. I saw it on a E and a ML before I saw it on a GLK.
I'm not sure that you will find that configuration on a pre-owned, or even new on a lot. Judging from what I saw on new vehicles when I was looking, the lighting package, heated wheel, trailer hitch, and Lane Tracking pkg are not common. If you find one that has one or two of those, it probably won't have other things you want because $53k GLKs aren't in high demand. The normal range I saw was about $47k-$51k.
That said, I have all the options you specified except the trailer hitch and the Lane Tracking (because I have the full Driver Assistance pkg that has the active versions of blind spot and lane departure warnings) and the only option I'd tell you to do without is the Ambient Lighting. So if you want everything you listed, with or without the Ambient Lighting pkg, you may need to order from the factory. It's a process that is both exciting and maddening at the same time, but you get exactly what you want and you can also choose from the special order options.

GLK Audio
I recently bought a 2014 GLK for my daughter, no sunroof, non bi-xenon, etc. In other words, base plus 4Matic,heated seats, bluetooth, navi for 37k. Audio is non HK, standard MB sound system, Pretty decent but can not be compared with the HK Premium Dolby7 which came with my 06 R350. Tried watching netflix and plugged in the i-pad to the R350 sound system. Unbelievable. Theater-like surround sound. To me, when driving long distance, the HK system will be a comforting companion. Happy with the R for long drives and happy with the GLK for in-town AND long trips. Plus GLK has better mileage than the R-class, even if they both have 3.5 liters.

Finally a voice of reason ... thank you... salesmen just wanna shoe horn whatever they have in stock... and some people think a high end audio is just louder dollar for dollar. I have a 30 minute commute and which might stretch to 90 minute on bad traffic. I love listening to music and with all the stress of the day it is a nice pvt sanctuary to listen to music!. That's why HK is the must have option for me. Also 2015 is dropping 6 disc changer, all the more reason to consider 2014

IMHO.... and experience's ; HK + Ad Cruise Control = PURE BLISS in long distance driving! Smooth JAZZ never sounded better! and you an ACDC Fan (which aussue isn't!!!).... its a near concert experience on WHEELS.
Wife also has this in her Q7 TDI (Audi gives you get extra low bases bOOOOM box past the 3rd row seating!!!)
IMHO... HK is still way better then that T** stuff in my previous R8 had....

They do have the parktronic with surround view for 1290, but I don't do much city / parallel parking and thought rear view cam should be enough. Thanks for pointing out the floor mats, still researching if weather tech floor liners is a better option.
Looks like opti-coat is a good option for easy clean up. Anybody have experience with that please let me know. I would rather get it done new before collecting scratches. And laminate for front window.
