2008 GLK M272 balance shaft?

I've been considering a 2008 GLK 280 but upon researching the vehicle I found out it has an M272 engine like my old car, a 2007 C230. I know about the very common and expensive balance shaft gear wearing issue and was wondering if that was limited to the C class M272 engines, or if I have to get a 2009 or newer model to avoid this issue altogether? Supposedly they fixed the issue late 2008 according to Wikipedia.

Balance shafts engine.

I am no TECH,but it is my understanding that engine is a 90 degree V and requires balance shafts. The direct injection engine from 2012 on is a 60 degree V and no balance shafts.

350 GLK, C280
Where did they sell a 2008 GLK? Didn't the C230 have a 4 cyl engine? The C280's on the W203 board have few complaints when compared to the 230's, but unless it is a Diesel, I would think it would be under powered for the weight of a GLK.

Bought one of the very first GLK350's. A 2010 bought in Jan 2009.
