A Christmas trip completed
Exhausted but happy to be back home !
Covered more than 2500 miles on our BT. Have to calculate later on how much diesel was consumed. Got a +40 miles/gallon reading many times on I-95 when I could keep the speed steady.
BT GLK is a very nice car to make long distances in one day, goes a looooooong way before needing refill....
And drives really nicely on highways. Almost like a train.

any anxiety without a spare? I'm not brave enough to cover such a distance without one
Miami to Manhattan is a lot to do in one day. How long did it take in raw driving hours?
I think that mileage in one day is impossible to do.
What I meant that one can cover long distances in one day as it is a relaxing cruiser, and doesn't need refilling too often... the bigger issue is the human bladder ! And hunger !
Had several hotels/motels on both ways.
Especially on our way back, stopped when ever and where ever we felt like it.
I didn't worry about the spare at all. If it goes, then it goes. You fix it with the spraything, or call for help. To be honest I haven't even checked what this car comes with...but do recall reading here that US models have no spare.

I just came back from road trip travelling from Toronto, ON to Manhattan, NYC.
Covered some 900 km one-way. My readings are at 10.3-10.6/100KM on highways while keeping up with car speed.
I have a 2010 GLK350 4matic.

And it came to 32,51 MPG.
Also noticed we actually covered 2926 miles.
Still really happy !
Most likely I can still cover 200 miles to get the tank to exactly same level it was the day we left.
Which would bring the figure to roughly 35 MPG.
Pretty impressive.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Only 22-23 mpg, but supreme gas is a good bit cheaper than diesel so it probably works out close...

On our way down , we stopped first night at Fayetteville, the second night we spent on seaside town, Fort Pierce. Then to Miami.
Coming back, stayed in Orlando, ( had to visit Universal Themepark) , then Titusville ( son wanted to see alligators there ! ) , then Myrtle Beach, to Virginia Beach and then back to Manhattan.
I did not have any issues finding diesel, 2 times went to a place that didn't have it, but they helpfully pointed me to the next station ( often less than 0.5 miles away ) that had it. When driving to a pump, diesel was often only available on one or two pumps, sometimes located to side.
But wouldn't consider that a problem, as You have to fill so rarely !
Normally I filled every morning ( if needed ) , close to hotel we stayed, before we hit the road.
Palm Beach to Savannah to Palm Beach 37.4 computer 36.7 calculated.
Palm Beach to Tampa to Palm Beach 37.8
This motor rocks! Put the same motor in the E class and you get even better numbers
