Assistant Graphics - Any use at all without Distronic or Lane Keep Assist?
Does the Assistant Graphics have any use at all without Distronic or Lane Keep Assist?
My GLK does not have neither. I had the graphics on while driving and it showed nothing throughout. I can understand that without Distronic, or Lane Keep Assist then there is no way the car can tell if there are cars in front, or driving close to the lane markers.
So without Distronic or Lane Keep Assist is there any use at all with Assistant Graphics? If it is useless without why leave it there?

Why is this graphic available in the cluster if my vehicle does not have options that utilize it? Any use for it? Or just something ascetically pleasing to have?

Because it takes considerably more resources to write new COMAND software without that particular functionality and menu and keep track of which car gets which version during dealer-installed updates than it does to simply disable the unneeded modules on vehicles that don't have them.
