Perhaps the above posters screen name may account for his obvious confusion.

I think anyone asking the question the way 420tee asked it will be asking for a snarky reply to what seems to be a snarky question. If you don't like the responses then you need to ask the question in a less leading way. None of the answers require an ability to compute change from a sale in your head. Yes, I do this too and am amused when a cashier stares in sudden frozen silence when the cash register doesn't "tell" the cashier how much change to give. In any event, it's irrelevant and an attempt at some kind of superiority and doesn't belong here. Many of the posters are engineers, Mercedes mechanics and other knowledgeable people. The move to front wheel drive in passenger cars started in mass in the late '70's in an attempt to lose weight and complexity - not improve driving dynamics. RWD is well known to provide a superior driving experience because of better weight balance and the separation of steering wheels from driving wheels. FWD asks too much from the front tires and suspension to perform well at the limits.
Maybe a better question is, "Why do you prefer FWD?" The GLA and it's variants are FWD if that's what you prefer. I had a Lexus RX350 which was noticeably nose heavy. The GLK provides more of what I am looking for in balance. The Lexus provides a luxury Crossover of similar size and appointments in FWD. Buy what you like.
