2013 x204 COMAND has Navi button but no Nav
The head unit has a Navi button but when activated the screen message "Navigation not available" is displayed.
Is enabling Navigation an option (e.g. add the GPS antenna then enabling via engineering mode) or do I replace the head unit? Replacement of the head unit seems seems odd because the button is there, but then again this is a Benz.
I am aware of the Becker plug & play unit, but that thing kinda sucks.
From what I have read, I think the button is their in case you purchased the Multimedia package (which has Nav), or have the Becker Map Pilot.
From what I have read, after the fact, Beck Map Pilot is the only reasonable GPS add-on that will utilize that button. I think getting the regular GPS is way expense. Could be wrong, but that is what I have seen on the forum.
Sunman's response:
"I'll look into it but I think you have to pay Mercedes to activate that feature and load maps. It's a licensed feature. Mercedes and most manufacturers are moving to a model where all equipment is in car but to activate the feature you have to pay for the license"
I believe you have Audio 20 - and all 2013 GLK's have a Nav button - but if your GLK does not have Becker pre-wiring installed at the factory - then yes, the Nav button will not do anything - and frankly Becker wiring cannot be installed after-the-fact.
