First long trip of GLK350 4matic.

My daughter's GLK350 has only seen daily highschool chores. After a year of driving the new 2014, it was due for the yearly service A at 9500 miles. Having to commute from one property to the home base is at least 950 miles. For more seat time we chose the GLK for the trip instead of my new escalade to my son's disdain(he likes the bluray dvd). As for the driveability, the GLK350 delivered-it is a MB. Range was 460 miles and even with 4 passengers and fully loaded luggage it was comfortable with less jounce or bounce. The 3.5 V6 felt over adequate in the passing and merging lanes. I wished I used the paddle shifter but it shifted easily and no fuss. I wished I have owned the GLK earlier and would have enjoyed it more and could have chosen European delivery to drive it in Italy, France and Spain. The mbrace nav was spot on but a little bit late in telling me directions when to turn. Unlike tom tom and onstar where it warns you way ahead of time, it was okay as the maps seemed updated. I wished I added the lighting package as the halogen lights are not as bright. Distronic package would have been nice. All in all a neat and nice package.

Glad your driving experience was similar to that of mine. I am curious as to what the tire pressure you have set on your daughter's GLK. I lowered my wife's to 35 PSI on all four tires since she has two car seats and two kids riding in the car with stroller in the back 90% of the time. She has the 19" wheels. I wanted to play around a little to soften the ride a little. Was thinking about 31-32, but concerned about the sidewalls on the tires and quicker wear on the tires. What do you think?

Also the 2015 model map seems to be much better. A little slow on the traffic updates compared to my Audi, but much better than I expected.

I have mine at 38 and when warmed goes to 41 psi. It's a blast to drive. 100mph comes quickly and effortlessly. Even at full throttle I averaged 24mpg. The rear tai lights is distinctive at night.

I love my new GLK350 also. Took it on a long trip from NY to Chicago with ease Super smooth and comfortable. I cant wait to own my next MB. I am a BMW guy but I may have been converted to MB because of how smooth it is. It's a great family car.

I dont have the nav however, but my iPhone's Google maps was good enough. I wish I had the lighting package but the halogens are adequate. None of the GLKs at the dealer had HID!! This was a quick purchase and I didnt have time nor patience to wait for them to build one for me in Germany lol.
