Brake wear

Just curious as to how many miles folks are getting between brake jobs on their GLK's.

At 37,000 miles, the brakes on my GLK are still smooth and even. However, one or more of the brakes started squeaking periodically a few months ago. I took a close look at all of the discs and they look really good.

I'm taking the car in next week to have it checked, or possibly a complete brake job performed.

I bought a CPO with 22,000 miles on it in 2014. At about 35,000 miles, i started getting a lot of vibration under moderate to hard braking. Eventually i brought it in at just over 40,000 miles, and they said the pads were totally fine and they couldn't detect major warping in the rotors, but if I was going to replace the pads to ceramic like i wanted (I hate brake dust!) they would require i do the rotors too to ensure the problem would be resolved. So i did new rotors and Akebono ceramic pads and the brakes are awesome now with no vibration. So to answer your question, I got about 35,000 miles on my rotors. The mechanic suspected they swapped in new pads before selling the vehicle but did not touch the rotors, explaining the good pad thickness.

Just took my 2014 GLK350 into the dealer. Rotors are warped and the front driver side pad is down to metal on metal. I did not get the brake pad sensor alert like I have on my other Mercedes. Mileage is 29,500, which seems way to low for the way this car is driven.

I took my GLK-350 in and good news. No brake job needed. The front rotor pads measured 8mm and the rear pads measured 10mm. Discs are smooth and vibration free.

Meanwhile, my wife still hears a little squeak every now and then. I can't hear it, so not going to worry about it.

Just pickup a CPO GLK few weeks ago. 1st time owning a Benz but not a newbie to them since family hv Benz before. However am a newbie to SUV/mini SUV. Just wondering are the brakes and the bite do they seem to have a softer feel and grip? Is it in general with all newer Mercedes and or SUV since fam hv C, E, CLK and all have firm brakes

63k here and plenty to go. One of my sensors did die along the way.
