Intermittent key operation
Have a 2010 GLK350 and having some trouble with one of the keys. Pressing the unlock is sometimes intermittent. Nothing happens and the red led near the panic button doesn't flash. Lock and hatch buttons seem to work consistently though and the battery indicator always flashes red when those buttons are pushed. No problems with the second key at all. Replaced batteries in both of the keys about two months ago.
Could that key be going bad and need replacement? If so, is dealer replacement the only option or are there any third party replacements yet for these keys?

This may be a issue with sub-standard batteries - size CR2025 - especially since there are so-so-many poor quality China mae batteries sold - many under "brand name"...

I don't think it's a battery problem. I had tried the Chinese batteries in all my Benz keys and had problems so when I changed them about two months ago, I used Energizer cells and changed all of them out (I have a C250 w/Keyless Go as well). This single key and only the unlock function is having issues so would suspect a malfunctioning key vs a battery problem since all my other keys have been working flawlessly.
